Darebin Backyard Harvest Festival 2015

If you missed out in booking in on the Sustainable Gardening Australia workshops, which are all booked out, I’m running two events for the City of Darebin – I have volunteered to run one basic garden tour and a food forest workshop with a tour of the garden.

The festival is being held from Saturday 21 – Sunday 29 November, 2015 on weekends and early evenings during the week.

This year 16 of Darebin’s residential fruit and vegetable gardens will be open for display, and there are six different workshops to attend on everything from permaculture, aquaponics to backyard beekeeping and tree grafting.

If you want to see my garden or attend my workshop, I will be running the following events:

Garden Tour of Angelo’s Food Forest Preston

When: Tuesday 24 November, 6:00 – 7:00pm

Where: Preston (address provided on booking)

Garden tour only, not a workshop
(and yes, the council is charging the same price for tickets to this garden tour as the workshop with garden tour listed below, it’s their event, ask them!)

$10 / $5 Concession (children free), Tickets: www.darebin.vic.gov.au/backyardharvest

Permaculture Garden Talk 1: Food Forests with Angelo Eliades

When: Sunday 29 November, 10:00 – 11:00am

Where: Location: Preston (address provided on booking)

Passionate food forest advocate Angelo Eliades from Deep Green Permaculture will demonstrate how a conventional backyard has been transformed into a thriving, productive biodiverse demonstration permaculture food forest garden with over 30 fruit trees, dozens of berries, multitudes of medicinal herbs as well as plenty of exotic edibles from around the world and native bush food plants too.

$10 / $5 Concession (children free), Tickets: www.darebin.vic.gov.au/backyardharvest
