Learn all about soils and how they function, how to assess them, and ways to build healthy soils using natural organic methods.

In this informative workshop, you’ll learn about how soil functions as a living ecosystem to support plant growth, the properties of various soils, and everything you need to know to confidently assess your soil to determine its soil type, and how to amend it naturally to build a healthy, rich and fertile soil with excellent soil structure.

No matter what level of understanding of science you may have, we explain it all in an accessible way that makes it easy for gardeners to comprehend, and enjoyable to learn. By explaining the big picture of how nature’s soil systems work, then explaining the details, it’s easy to see how everything fits together!

This is a very practical workshop, you’ll discover lots of great organic gardening techniques and methods to try out, which can significantly improve soils, increase garden productivity, and also reduce pests and diseases.

Whether you’re just getting started or have some experience and wish to learn more, this workshop is suitable for gardeners of all skill levels.

Topics covered in this workshop include:

Participants will be provided with detailed handouts/notes for the workshop.

There will be a 15-minute questions & answers session at the end of the workshop. Participants are also encouraged to ask questions that are on-topic during the workshop to create a more interactive learning environment.

What makes us different, apart from our ecological approach to gardening, is the way we teach. We not only explain how to do things, but we also explain why, because adults learn better when they know the reasons they’re doing what they’re doing!
