This pint-sized baby ringtail possum was spotted resting on a very low thin branch in my apricot tree, just chilling out. It's very young, and quite unaware of the danger that it might be in that low in a bare deciduous tree in winter without cover, and it allowed me to get a few metres away to take the photo.

Rainbow lorikeets are beautiful little Australian parrots that feed on nectar and pollen, but also eats fruit, seeds and some insects. They travel in flocks and raid fruit trees in their numbers! It would be okay if they ate every fruit they bit into, but they prefer to take little bites out of every fruit they see! 😮 This little bird was one of a mob that attacked a persimmon tree covered in fruit.

French marigolds (Tagetes patula) are members of the Asteraceae (daisy) family that produce brightly coloured flowers throughout the warm seasons. These flowers are edible, and can also be used to make a natural yellow dye. They also provide nectar for bees! 🙂

The choko or chayote (Sechium edule) is a vigorous, herbaceous perennial vine from the gourd (Cucurbitaceae) family, that is native to Central America, but is now cultivated in many parts of the world.

Tomatoes flowering but not fruiting?

Cornflowers are annual plants from the Asteraceae (daisy) family. Their frilly flowers are a vivid periwinkle blue, and they grew as wild plants in corn fields in Europe, where they're native to, hence their name.
